Back to School

Big day today for my kiddos…it’s the first day of school here in the South.  Another year filled with excitement, learning, routines and of course, it wouldn’t be school without a tiny bit of drama.  I remember those times….the anticipation, not being able to sleep the night before the big day after a summer of no bedtime.  New clothes, new supplies picked out ever so carefully, wondering who will be in my classes.  Bittersweet, excited about a new beginning, but longing for just a bit more freedom that summer offers.  I have to admit, for a moment this morning while getting my 2 kids out the door and on their way, I longed for those days of my youth when everything was so much more simple, but just for a moment.
